(1 November 2009) Profesor Dr. Vahit Bıçak, a visiting scholor of the City University of New York, presents a paper at the American Society of Criminology's 61st Annual Conference Philadelphia, November 4th - 7th, 2009. The title of my presentation is "The fight against establishing or commanding an armed criminal organization with the purpose of abolishing the Government and/or the Parliament: The recent case of Ergenekon in Turkey" The American Society of Criminology is an international organization whose members pursue scholarly, scientific, and professional knowledge concerning the measurement, etiology, consequences, prevention, control, and treatment of crime and delinquency. The Society's objectives are to encourage the exchange, in a multidisciplinary setting, of those engaged in research, teaching, and practice so as to foster criminological scholarship, and to serve as a forum for the dissemination of criminological knowledge. Our members includes students, practitioners, and academicians from the many fields of criminal justice and criminology.
