(25 October 2009) Prof. Dr. Vahit Bicak played a minor role in the TV program named "Flying Chef"� presented by Gil Hovav for Israel"™s TV, Channel 2. The Channel was launched in November 1993, breaking the Israeli Broadcasting Authority"™s 25-year monopoly and establishing nation-wide television broadcasts, accessible to all. In 2000, the law governing the Second Authority was amended, and the stage was set for an additional commercial station. Gil Hovav, leading Israeli culinary journalist and television personality, comes from one of the most respected lineages in the Jewish world: He is the great-grandson of Eliezer Ben-Yehuda, the reviver of the Hebrew language; the grandson of Itamar Ben-Avi, who began modern Hebrew journalism; and the son of Moshe & Drora Hovav, "founding members"� of Israel"™s modern day public radio. He now works as a journalist, food critic and tv host and owns a production company and publishing house.
